Our History

Originally founded in Orange County in 1979, The Blackwell Group expanded their services throughout Southern California performing thousands of appraisals in Los Angeles, Riverside, San Bernardino, Ventura, and San Diego Counties. In 1993 they opened a Northern California office, further expanding their presence into the Sacramento Region. Today they maintain offices in Riverside and Nevada Counties from which they service clients throughout the State.

The Blackwell Group

L. Deane Wilson, ASA, is the founder of The Blackwell Institute for the Study of Land Use Ethics, and a Partner and Chief Appraiser of The Blackwell Group, a real estate appraisal firm with offices in Southern and Northern California. He graduated from BIOLA University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Organizational Leadership, and has a Special Major Masters Degree from California State University, Sacramento in Land Use Ethics. Mr. Wilson is an AQB Certified USPAP Instructor.

Robin G. Wilson, MAI is a Partner and Senior Appraiser of The Blackwell Group, an appraisal firm with offices in Southern and Northern California. She has been actively engaged in all types of real estate appraisal, (commercial, industrial, residential, and vacant land) since 1980. Ms. Wilson graduated with honors from California Polytechnic State University at San Luis Obispo with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English. She has earned the MAI Designation from the Appraisal Institute, and has served on the Appraisal Institute's National Ethics Review and Counsel Committee.
